FABLE
…and then there was the fable of the beetle. You see, thousands of years ago, a large blue beetle had been placed (by a priest who knew about Time) inside a long bamboo tube, open at both ends. The beetle was unique in that it reproduced only at the last moment before it’s natural death. The situation was so arranged that it would take the whole of it’s natural life to reach from one end of the tube to the other. As the beetle would reach the end of the tube, and just as it was about to expire, the birth process would begin and the infant beetle would be expelled just as death and the end of the tube were reached. The disoriented off-spring, repelled by the bright light would then commence to walk towards the opposite end of the tube, and the cycle would repeat itself.
